I don't know if it's the right place, but I want to pay my respect to a member of my family that died in war. Feel free to delete this if it's not.

Standartenfuhrer Otto Holstein (Innsbruck 1912- Stalingrad 1943) - My great-grandfather was an officer of the Waffen-SS, the armed branch of the SS. He was killed in the battle of Stalingrad by a soviet sniper. I don't know if he was involved in atrocities, but the stories I hear remember him as a good soldier and a great father. He was one of the recipients of the Iron Cross with Knights Leaves, one of the highest ranking condecorations in the 3rd Reich.
